Monmouth man arrested for having meth lab in car

OQUAWKA - Henderson County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Monmouth man Saturday afternoon for reportedly having a rolling meth lab in his car.Christopher P. Shultz, 34, 1001 E. Eighth Ave., Monmouth, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. on U.S. 34, one mile west of County Road 1300 East for unlawful transportation of anhydrous ammonia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Mark Lumbeck said the arrest stemmed from a report that a 1995 black Mitsubishi was driving very slow on the roadway without its headlights.
Shultz also was arrested on a Warren County warrant for failure to appear.
A passenger in the Shultz car, Jessica R. Yardley, 26, Burlington, Iowa, was charged by Illinois State Police for possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine.
Shultz and Yardley were held in the Henderson County Jail pending an appearance in Henderson County Circuit Court.
The Illinois State Police Meth Response Team removed the meth lab from the car.
