God teaches love, not hate

Editor, Register-Mail: I would like to thank the two Knox groups for standing in front of the protesters so the family would not have to see. Every one of you are in my prayers. Your act of kindness and respectfulness for the Wehrly family, I am sure, is greatly appreciated.

As for the protesters, you should be grateful that there are people like Kyle who are willing to die so you can have the right to protest things. The very least you could do is show this family respect. How would you feel if it were your loved one's funeral and people were protesting?

As far as comments being made about the military being overran by homosexuals, what gives you the right to judge? I think we should leave the judging to God. God teaches love not hate. I know what the Bible says about homosexuals. Again, it is not our place to judge others. If you need publicity so bad, there are other ways to do it besides making fools of yourselves and trying to disrupt a funeral.

May God bless the Wehrly family. You are in my prayers. - Melissa Decker, (a graduate of the class of 1996), Galesburg
