Classes, events geared for seniors

GALESBURG - Carl Sandburg College for Senior Citizens is offering the following classes and events for people 50 and older. To register, call 344-1512.- Internet Workshop II, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 8 and 15, Educational Technology Center, Sandburg Mall. This workshop will build upon the information and skills learned in Internet Workshop I. Students will learn how to use Internet Explorer and Outlook Express more effectively, how to organize and backup favorites, download and install a simple program and set up and organize e-mail. Cost is $25. Class limited to 12 students.
- Mosaic Stepping Stones, 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 18 and 25, 117 N. Main St., Alexis. Students can design their own stepping stones using colored pieces of tile. Cost of the class is $25 plus a $15 materials fee.
- Trip to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 7
Cost is $60 and includes motor coach transportation, tour fees and gratuities. The trip is limited to 35 people. No refunds will be given after Oct. 17, although a substitute may attend.
- Illinois getaways lunch and learn session, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 17, Educational Technology Center. Learn to plan an Illinois getaway. Cost is $12 and includes lunch and the program.
- Small Town Ghosts, 6:30 to 9 p.m., Oct. 30, Room F118, Carl Sandburg College
Paranormal investigator Barb Huyser will explain some of the investigations in which she has been involved. She has participated in paranormal investigations since 1977. Since moving to western Illinois in 1996, she has explored several cemeteries and investigated numerous haunted houses in the area. She is the author of "Small Town Ghosts." Cost is $5 and includes refreshments. This program is not limited to senior citizens.
