GALESBURG - Leo P. Halpin, 60, 945 Dayton St., formerly of Maquon, died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 5, 2005) in his home, of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Peoria, the son of Leo P. and Clementine Gilles Halpin.

He married Margery Dunn on Dec. 1, 1967, in Glasford.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Sherry (and Rod) Fleisher, Maquon, and Michelle (and Dale) Kern, Palmyra, Mo.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

He was reared and educated in Peoria.

He was a machinist at Caterpillar Inc., East Peoria, for 32 years, retiring in 2000.

He was a member of United Auto Workers Union 974 of East Peoria.

Cremation was accorded. Private services will be at a later date. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
