Local Wendy's remains open

GALESBURG - The Wendy's restaurant on North Henderson Street is open for business as usual.Copley News Service reported this morning that more than three dozen Wendy's in Illinois and Missouri closed their doors when WenAmerica, the Missouri company that owned a number of central Illinois Wendy's, filed for bankruptcy in St. Louis earlier this month.
At least five Wendy's in the Peoria metropolitan area were affected.
A call this morning to Wendy's in Galesburg, 976 N. Henderson St., confirmed the restaurant here is not associated with the ones that closed.
"We're not affected by that at all," said Tammy Stegall, opening manager at the Galesburg location. Stegall was at the restaurant with other employees readying the local Wendy's for another day of business when she was called at about 7:10 a.m. today.
