NEW WINDSOR - The New Windsor Fair, Rodeo and Horse Show gets set for its 68th year this weekend.

Rodeo action takes place today, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The rodeo parade kicks off the weekend at 5 p.m. today.

Events featured are saddle bronc, bare back, bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, girl's barrel race and team roping.

"Something new we've added is the bull riding," said Rodeo Fair Board President Chris Streeter. "It's one of the fastest growing spectator sports that there is."

Other entertainment during the weekend includes trick rider Dusti Lynn Crain from Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede in Tennessee and Bob Johnson's Overland Stage Coach from Delmar, Iowa.

"And Saturday at noon, we've added a cowboy mounted shooting," said Streeter. "Cowboys set up a course inside the arena and they are mounted on horseback and they are shooting live ammunition out of real weapons at the target."

Both rifles and handguns will be used.

The Junior Horse Show is Friday at 9:30 a.m. and the Western Horse Show is Saturday at 9 a.m. There is also a Rodeo Run Road Race on Saturday at 8 a.m.

A complete list of activities is available at www.nwrodeo.org.
