KIRKWOOD - Jim and Eunice Carner, rural Kirkwood, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday.

James Carner and Eunice Green were married Aug. 27, 1955, in First Christian Church, Monmouth, by Rev. Orville Wright and Rev. Donald Nepstad.

They are the parents of Paul (and Nancy) Carner, Caledonia; and John (and Linda) Carner, Decatur. They have two granddaughters.

He retired in 1988 after 32 years as a pilot for American Airlines, domiciled at Boston's Logan International Airport, and later, at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. He also operated Rozetta Crop Service for 12 years after moving to Kirkwood, and was a partner in Mon-Air, Inc., with operated Monmouth Airport in 1972 and 1973. She taught a private kindergarten for eight years while living in New Hampshire, and later worked at Community Medical Hospital and at The Federal Land Bank, Monmouth.

Their children invite friends of their parents to join them for light refreshments and dessert from

7:15 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Stockdale Center, Monmouth College, Monmouth.

The couple requests that gifts be omitted.
