Teen arrested for choking mom

MACOMB (GHNS) - A 13-year-old Prairie City boy was arrested Thursday night for battering his mother and a police officer.McDonough County Sheriff's deputies responded to an East Mercer Street home in Prairie City about 9:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of a battery. The teen's mother told deputies her son put her in a head-lock and choked her.
Police said he also pushed one of the deputies who responded to the call and took an aggressive stance. The teen is charged with felony aggravate battery to a police officer and misdemeanor domestic battery. He was transported to the Mary Davis Home juvenile detention facility in Galesburg to await an initial court hearing.
