OQUAWKA (GHNS) - Two Oquawka residents have been arrested and charged with theft in connection with a stolen vehicle.

Henderson County Sheriff Mark Lumbeck said Larry L. Knotts, 45, was arrested Saturday in Burlington, Iowa, by Burlington police on a Henderson County warrant charging him with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and theft.

Lumbeck said the arrest warrant was issued after Henderson County deputies executed a search warrant June 15 at the residence of Amy S. Melvin, who lives on 5th Street in Oquawka.

The deputies allegedly found a stolen motorcycle in the garage at Melvin's residence.

Knotts was transported back to Henderson County on Monday. He is being held in the Henderson County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Melvin, 33, was taken into custody Monday. She also faces charges of unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and theft. Melvin was released on $500 bond. She is scheduled to make her next court appearance July 11.
