Hundreds lined the streets of Galesburg and Knoxville late Tuesday night for the return of Pfc. Caleb Lufkin, the Knoxville soldier who died Thursday during surgery to fix injuries he received May 4 when the vehicle he was in struck a roadside bomb in Iraq.

Lufkin arrived at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home in Galesburg shortly before midnight in a motorcade that included motorcycles, police cars, fire trucks and ambulances. The procession traveled from O'Hare International Airport in Chicago to Galesburg, passing through Knoxville and East Galesburg on the way.
