GALESBURG -A car driven by Nathan E. Thierry, 16, 138 Cedar Ave., struck the rear of a car driven by Ethan L. Soper, 18, 585 Arnold St., at 3:01 p.m. Tuesday at Fremont and Hawkinson streets. The collision forced Soper's car into an SUV driven by Sarah J. Zolper, 16, 969 N. Prairie St. Thierry was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

- A van driven by Alyssa J. Parkinson, 21, 945 Parkview Road, struck the rear of a car driven by Amy E. Turner, 29, 472 S. Academy St., at 12:44 p.m. Tuesday at Baird Avenue and Farnham Street. Parkinson and Turner were treated at Galesburg Cottage Hospital and released. Parkinson was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

- Vehicles driven by Ladon L. Workman, 49, 860 E. Brooks St., and Cynthia D. Roach, 40, 1121 Court St., collided at 7:22 a.m. Tuesday at Whitesboro and South streets. Workman was cited for failure to yield.

- Laura J. Cree, 39, 589 N. Seminary St., told police she was backing into her driveway from the 400 block of East Losey Street when her car struck a car driven by Michael A. Courier, 20, 695 Brown Ave., at 2:09 p.m. Tuesday. Cree was cited for expired registration and failure to yield.

- A car driven by John W. Tribbey, 55, 808 Lawrence Ave., struck the rear of a truck driven by Robert L. Carter, 50, Prairie City, at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday at Olive and Losey streets. Tribbey was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

- Vehicles driven by Mary J. Christianson, 20, 435 E. Victoria St., Wataga, and Patricia L. Dallefeld, 76, Avon, collided at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday at Cherry and Fremont streets. Christianson was cited for failure to yield. Dallefeld was cited for improper use of turn signal.

- A car driven by Candy Webb, 46, 1264 E. Brooks St., struck the rear of a car driven by Nancy K. Leonard, 57, 1051 N. Seminary St., at 4:50 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of North Seminary Street. No citations were issued.

- F. Dewayne Swanson, 86, 2042 Christine Drive, told police his vision was obscured by the sun when his vehicle hit a railroad crossing arm at Maple Avenue and Main Street at 3:41 p.m. Monday. Swanson was cited for failure to use due care.

- Vehicles driven by Cory D. Helvick, 18, 1087 N. West St., and Christine K. Pepmeyer, 55, 903 Parkview Road, collided at 1:39 p.m. Monday at Kellogg and Main streets. Helvick was cited for failure to yield.

- Ricardo D. Sandoval, 44, 103 S. Snapp St., Abingdon, was driving his truck out of a parking space at 9:15 a.m. May 18 in the 200 block of South Cherry Street when his vehicle struck a car driven by Lane V. Sunderland, 62, 185 Park Lane. Sandoval was cited for failure to yield.

- Debra K. Begner, 56, 366 N. Cherry St., told police her parked van was struck by an unknown vehicle between 12:15 and 1 p.m. May 16 while parked in front of 1209 Garden Lane.

- A vehicle driven by Thomas W. Jones, 54, 300 E. Huston, struck a parked truck owned by Anthony L. Sibley Sr., 54, 752 S. Cedar St., at 5:11 p.m. Friday in the Hi-Lo parking lot, 931 S. Seminary St. Jones was cited for DUI. It was incorrectly reported in Monday's edition that Sibley's car struck Jones' vehicle.

WATAGA - Vehicles driven by Lisa A. Baum, 43, 333 E. Miners St., Wataga, and Amber J. Leafgreen, 17, Altona, collided at 4:38 p.m. Saturday at Miners and Taylor streets. Baum was cited for failure to yield.

- A wood panel blew out of the bed of a truck driven by David C. Walters, 57, Toulon, at 1:46 p.m. Friday at Illinois 167 and Knox Highway 40. The wood panel struck the windshield of a truck driven by James A. Winkler, 50, Alexis, causing damage. Walters was cited for failing to properly secure an item.

YATES CITY - Louie D. Ervin Jr., 50, East Peoria, told police he was passing a semi driven by Gene R. Geier, 65, London Mills, on Illinois 8 at Knox Highway 19 at 8:09 a.m. Friday when the two trucks collided. Geier told police he had slowed to make a left turn when Ervin's truck struck his vehicle.

Herbicide from Geier's truck spilled, requiring clean up. Both vehicles had damage, the drivers refused medical treatment at the scene. Ervin was cited for passing in a no passing zone.

ABINGDON - Dustin K. McCue, 25, 407 Rotary Drive, Abingdon, told police he swerved to avoid hitting an animal in the road when his car hit a ditch at 10:08 p.m. Thursday at Knox Highway 5 and Knox Road 450E. McCue was taken to Cottage Hospital for unknown injuries. He was given a citation.
