Man jailed for home meth lab

GALESBURG - A 36-year-old man is behind bars after being busted Thursday for having a methamphetamine lab at his residence.

Police said Harold W. Walters, 140 Blaine Ave., was taken into custody at about 1:50 p.m. Thursday by the Illinois Department of Corrections Apprehension Unit and a U.S. Marshal. Walters was charged with possession of anhydrous ammonia, possession of meth manufacturing materials and an Illinois bond violation warrant.

Another resident, Jolene M. Burton, 39, gave police permission to search the house. Police found the meth lab in the basement.
