Kenneth L. 'Zeke' Dowell

1939-2006

He was born Oct. 2, 1939, in Carman, the son of Gean W. and Madeline Stamp Dowell.

Surviving are two daughters, Lori Grassberger, Kansas City, Kan., and Kortni Kay Dowell, Danville, Iowa; his longtime companion, Alice McDowell, Stronghurst; his mother of Stronghurst; two brothers, Sharon Dowell, Havana, and Loren Dowell, Round Rock, Texas; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother and a niece.

He graduated from Stronghurst High School in 1958.

He served in the Navy from 1958 to 1962, then attended the U.S. Trade School in Kansas City, Mo.

He worked as a mechanic and farmed.

He enjoyed researching, finding and studying Native American artifacts.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Banks and Beals Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Knox officiating. No visitation is planned.
