Sundberg attends CIAC meeting

GALESBURG - Rick Sundberg of Bullis and Sundberg Insurance Services recently attended a meeting of the Central Illinois Advisory Council.The council consists of the top 10 insurance professionals in the state as selected by Central Insurance Co. The council members gather to discuss the insurance industry and potential changes in the industry.
Sundberg is a partner with Bullis and Sundberg, which has been in business since 1922 and insures more than 2,300 customers in four states.
GALESBURG - Kristyne Gilbert-Bradford joined the staff of Midwest Orthopedic Services as practice manager effective April 24.
She will be responsible for setting up the new office for Dr. Myron Stachniw.
Dr. Stachniw has practiced orthopedics in Galesburg since 1978 and over the last decade has developed a special interest in primary joint replacement. After building a multi-physician practice with Galesburg Orthopedic Services, he is transitioning to a private practice.
His office is located on the fourth floor of the Cottage Professional Building and Gilbert-Bradford is overseeing the transition.
Dr. Stachniw has performed clinical trials for several prosthesis companies and contributed to the design of hip and knee instrumentation systems.
He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle in 1969 and received his M.D. at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1973. His internship and orthopedic residencies were completed at the University of Illinois in 1978. He also received a master of science degree in orthopedics for his research in microvascular surgery.
GALESBURG - Martha Rogers has been named winner of NAEIR's Norbert C. Smith Quality Award for May and June.
Rogers, of Galesburg, works in shipping in the pick/pack section of the warehouse. She started with NAEIR in 1997.
As the award winner, Rogers receives a plaque, cash award and parking space for the next two months.
CANTON - Mark Johann, community bank president for Wells Fargo Bank's Canton office, will retire effective July 1.
"Mark has been an incredible asset to Wells Fargo and the Canton community." said John Winston, community bank president in Galesburg. "We wish Mark and Cyndi all the best as they start this new chapter in their lives."
Johann has been in the banking business since 1977 when he started with First Galesburg National Bank. He has held various banking positions throughout his career, including president of Madison Park Bank in Peoria.
Johann has served on numerous boards including 336 Coalition, Community Resources, Canton Area Chamber of Commerce, CADC, Revitalization, YMCA, Nature Conservancy Great Rivers Regional Board, and the Brownfield Committee.
GALESBURG - Mary McCoy has been selected OSF St. Mary Medical Center employee of the month for March.
McCoy has worked at OSF St. Mary for 10 years. She received her bachelor's degree in social work from Western Illinois University.
For winning the monthly honor, McCoy gets use of a special parking spot and her choice of monetary award or gift.

GALESBURG - OSF St. Mary Medical Center Rehabilitation Services Department is providing a summer program for children with autism and autism spectrum disorders.
The program will run Monday through Thursday afternoons, July 10 through Aug. 3.
Speech therapists and occupational therapists will provide activities that focus on play skills, socialization, communication, sensory and oral motor skills.

GALESBURG - Pat Naderman of Lambasio Inc. has earned certification from North American Technician Excellence as an installation and service technician for gas heating, heat pump and air conditioning equipment and systems.
NATE is an organization that develops and promotes excellence in the installation and service of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment by recognizing high-quality industry technicians through voluntary testing and certification.
Naderman earned his certification by passing NATE exams.
Naderman, of Galesburg, is a service and installation technician for Lambasio Inc. He is a graduate of Northeast Iowa Community College and has nine years of experience working with heating and air conditioning equipment and systems.
ONEIDA - The Bowman Insurance Agency has been honored for outstanding sales and service by Svea Mutual Insurance Co. in Orion.
The agency achieved the honor by meeting certain criteria, including volume of business and profitability.
The honor places Bowman Insurance Agency among a group of 22 agencies honored in 2005 by Svea Mutual Insurance Co., one of the largest farm mutuals in Illinois.
GALESBURG - Local business people are invited to attend a meeting of the local chapter of Business Network International at 7 a.m.Tuesday.
The speaker will be Joe Ryner from R 3 (Cubed) Technologies.
BNI is a business and professional networking organization that allows one representative from each profession to join. BNI provides a structured environment for the development and exchange of quality business referrals for both men and women.

GALESBURG - Cherish Hagerty has joined the staff of Prim-Rose Hair Designers, 160 W. Losey St., as a certified cosmetologist.
Hagerty is a graduate of Knoxville High School and lives in Wataga.
GALESBURG - OSF St. Mary Medical Center is starting a Stroke Support Group for stroke survivors and other interested participants.
The first meeting is from noon to 1:30 p.m. May 18 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Conference Room 1A. A light lunch will be served.
