GALESBURG - Colleen Camper and Adam Marshall, both of Galesburg, announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Richard and Loretta Wells, Galesburg, and the late Francis Camper; and William and Janeen Marshall, Horn Lake, Miss.

The bride-elect attended Galesburg High School and graduated from Kishwaukee College, DeKalb. She is employed at J.H. Rigsby III M.D., as a certified ophthalmic assistant.

The groom-elect graduated from Galesburg High School and Illinois Central College, Peoria. He is a physical therapist assistant at Cottage Rehab, and sings for the band Shattered.

They will be married at 5 p.m. Aug. 18 in First United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at Best Western Prairie Inn.

How did couple meet?

They met through a friend and co-worker of the groom-elect.

How did he propose?

He gave her a poem to read while they waited for a table at a restaurant. The last line of the poem said "Please say yes." When she turned around, he was on one knee with a ring.
