Best Frontmen/Frontwomen of Rock

DAVID WYNES
Entertainment Panelist

1. Robert Plant. Women wanted to be with him, guys wanted to be him. Led Zeppelin's legendary singer IS the greatest frontman ever. Don't believe me, pick up a copy of the live DVD and see for yourself.

2. Stevie Nicks. To be a front person, one must have unparalleled confidence. Nicks keeps the audience mesmerized with solid conviction. She is rock's greatest diva and frontwoman.

3. David Lee Roth. Sammy Hagar may have had a better voice, but Roth-era Van Halen had a frontman who was pure magic. His Spandex pants and mid-air martial arts kicks help boost his over-the-top persona to make him the ultimate '80s frontman.

JOANNE SANDY
Entertainment Panelist

1. Mick Jagger. Prancing back and forth on stage with the Rolling Stones, Jagger's often imitated "bad boy" image and vocal style has made him the best known frontman ever. 2. Sammy Hagar. His power-packed vocals and energetic, exciting stage presence fronting bands Van Halen, Montrose, the Waboritas, or even solo, brings his "I Can't Drive 55" mentality to every performance. 3. Anthony Kiedis. Using his melodious speed-rap, vocal styling and outgoing moves to front the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kiedis has been a key factor to the unique, Grammy Award-winning band's success.

1. Cub Koda of Brownsville Station: If you were lucky enough to see them live like I was, you would understand. If you didn't, you wouldn't.

2. Bruce Springsteen of The E Street Band: I'm a fan, not a huge fan, but saw tours in 1978 and 1981. He plays every show like it's his last night on Earth.

3. Shirley Jones of The Partridge Family: Just kidding.
