Theft arrest leads to meth lab

GALESBURG - A man arrested for stealing anhydrous ammonia in Mercer County led police to a methamphetamine lab in Galesburg.

According to reports, Christopher A. Renner, 24, 191 N. Prairie St., admitted to stealing anhydrous to cook meth at 215 S. Pearl St. Renner told Mercer County police that meth precursors were in a microwave oven in the back yard of that location.

Upon investigation, police found meth making materials in the microwave and two gas masks, several cannabis pipes, and coffee filters with meth residue inside the home.

Resident Davina A. Payton, 27, was arrested for a Warren County warrant for unlawful possession of meth.
