Theresa M. Peltier-Heald
Thursday, February 14, 2008GALESBURG - Theresa M. Peltier-Heald, 75, 1250 W. Carl Sandburg Drive, died at 9:23 p.m. Monday (Feb. 11, 2008) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born July 29, 1932, in Putnam, Conn., the daughter of Nelson and Mary McCarthy Peltier. She married Carl M. Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Rodney Smith of Galesburg and Roger (Teresa) Smith of Alburn, Wash.; five grandchildren, Michael and Jessie Smith, both of Alburn, Wash., Kim and Steven Smith, both of Galesburg, and Rodney Smith of Victorville, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Clare Peltier, and two nephews, Richard and Michael Peltier, all of Virginia Beach, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charlie Peltier.
She worked as a pharmacy assistant at Walgreens and at the Medical Arts Clinic. She also had worked as a laborer at Gale Products and as a team leader at St. Mary Square Living Center. She has lived in Galesburg since 1952. She graduated from Plainsfield High School in Central Village, Conn., in 1950. She attended classes at Carl Sandburg College. She attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She attended and volunteered for Alcoholics Anonymous.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Ernest Pizzamiglio will officiate. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service.
