Abingdon - Mary Alice Anderson, 82, of Galesburg, formerly of Abingdon, died at 8 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 10, 2008) at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

She was born April 22, 1925, near Abingdon, to Frank Otis and Nannie Jane Baker Rush. She married Robert K. Anderson. He preceded her in death. She later enjoyed the companionship of Herman Baughman and he also preceded her in death as did her brother, Roger Rush, who resided in California.

Mary is survived by two sons, Robert "Mike" (and his wife Bonnie) Anderson of Abingdon and Chuck K. Anderson of Davenport, Iowa; two grandchildren, Michael O. Anderson of Abingdon and Haili (and her husband Allen) Hensley of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one great-grandson, Logan A. Cole; a brother, Robert M. Rush of Abingdon; and a niece, Susan Rush of Concord, Calif.

She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1943. She worked as a dietary supervisor at St. Mary's Hospital in Galesburg.

She was a member of Abingdon Christian Church, a charter member of the Abingdon Pottery Collectors Club, a member of Abingdon High School Half Century Alumni and a member of the Abingdon Garden Club. She was a member of the Rebecca M. Parks Chapter DAR.

Cremation will be accorded. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel followed by a celebration of life service at 6:30 p.m. led by the Rev. Jerald Hill and Eleanor Landon.
