Thursday, February 8, 2007

Galesburg (CNS) - A Galesburg man has been sentenced to four years in prison for his role in the operation of a methamphetamine lab.

Christopher L. Claeys, 34, pleaded guilty Jan. 31 in Knox County Court to one count of possession of meth manufacturing chemicals.

Police said a chemical smell led them Nov. 8 to a meth lab at 1020 Washington Ave. in Galesburg where they arrested Claeys and six others.

About 1,400 grams of meth in liquid form was found in the garage of the home, police said.

Claeys also was ordered to pay court costs and will receive credit for the time he has served since his arrest. The cases of the others arrested during the raid are at various stages in and face similar meth-related charges.
