Tuesday, February 5, 2008GALESBURG - Mrs. Jean Dugan, 78, 1018 E. South St., died at 7:42 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 2008) at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born May 21, 1929, in North Henderson, to Cedric and Eula Tornquist William-son. She was raised by her stepfather, Elmer Young, from the age of 8. She married Wayne E. Dugan on Feb. 20, 1949, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1990.
She is survived by three sons, Rex (and Linda) Dugan of Puyallup, Wash., John (and Diana) Dugan of Stronghurst and Rick (and Linda) Dugan of Woodbury, Minn.; two daughters, Kathy Henness and Judith Dugan, both of Galesburg; two brothers, Jerry (and Lydia) Williamson of Oquawka and S.J. Williamson of Ft. Madison, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. A sister preceded her in death.
She worked as an insurance clerk at the Galesburg Clinic for 17 years, retiring in 1983. She was a 1946 graduate of Galesburg High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Kindness Circle. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and for Challenger Little League. She was a Reading Buddy at Cooke School.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the Rev. Marilyn Anell officiating. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
