KNOXVILLE - Alice Marlene "Chris" Pauley, 70, Knoxville, formerly of Plainfield, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 2008) at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.

Cremation will be accorded. Memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Peace Lutheran Church, Plainfield, with the Rev. Galen Sollie officiating. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery. The family will greet friends before the service at 11:30 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Butler Hospital Memory and Aging Clinic, 345 Blackstone Road, Providence, R.I. 02906.

Chris was born Oct. 22, 1937, in Galesburg, the daughter of Ed and Alice Cogswell Ring. She married David Pauley on March 3, 1962, in Chicago. He survives in Knoxville.

Also surviving are a daughter, Susan (Chris) Fetters, Bloomington; a son, Michael Pauley, Knoxville; three grandchildren, Ian, Benjamin and Max Fetters, all of Bloomington; two sisters, Karen (Phil) Swanson, Galesburg, and Anne (Dick) Brunner, Alpha; one brother, Jeffrey (Ann) Ring, Woodhull; and several nieces and nephews.
