Willard Lindbom 1915-2008 Sunday, February 3, 2008 GALVA - Willard E. Lindbom, 92, Galva, died at 10:20 a.m. Friday (Feb. 1, 2008) in the Kewanee Hospital Emergency Room. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rux Funeral Home, Galva. Russell Collister will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Bishop Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. Memorials may be directed to the American Legion. Willard was born June 18, 1915, in Andover, son of William and Julia (Anderson) Lindbom. He married Mary M. Collister on April 6, 1946. She preceded him in death Oct. 2, 1994. He is survived by one son, Myron (Debbie) Lindbom of Galva; one daughter, Ann (Marvin) Watters of Alpha; one sister, Minerva (the Rev. James) Hancock of Galva; four grandchildren, Matthew Lindbom, Valerie Danbold, Britta Watters-Chawan and Collin Watters; two great-grandchildren, Cole Lindbom and Tyler Hannam. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Darrell, Denzil, Maynard "Bud" and Kenneth, and one sister, Marion. Willard attended Bishop Hill schools. He served his country in the Army during WWII. He farmed for many years in the Galva area. He was a member of Bishop Hill Methodist Church, Hagburg-Hamlin American Legion in Galva and the Henry County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed his family, farming and fishing.
