Edwina B. Knott
Wednesday, January 30, 2008GALESBURG - Mrs. Edwina B. Knott, 85, 2286 Windish Drive, died at 7:53 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 29, 2008) in Seminary Manor Nursing Home.
She was born July 7, 1922, in Kewanee, the daughter of Dr. Lawrence Edwin and Mina M. Mannon Kent. She married Donald R. Knott on Jan. 15, 1943, in Columbia, Mo. He died Jan. 13, 1982.
She is survived by one son, Brian R. (Frankie) Knott of Galesburg; two daughters, Mina Morgan of Galesburg and Margaret "Peg" (Dave) Kidder of Chandler, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker. She graduated from high school in Wyoming, Ill., in 1940 and from Brown's Business College in 1941. She was a member of Coldbrook Christian Church. She was very active with the Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was involved with PTA and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Arizona. She donated to the Native American Indian Reservations in the Western states. She loved to travel. She has lived in Galesburg most her life.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Jim Price will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
