CAPE FAIR, Mo. - Tom Rabenau, 79, 29 Ball Diamond Road, formerly of Galesburg and Monmouth, Ill., died at 9 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 26, 2008) in Skaggs Community Medical Center, Branson, Mo.

He was born March 22, 1928, in Galesburg, the son of Clarence Thomas and Adelle Mae Hedding Rabenau. He married JoAnne Jonaitis on Dec. 20, 1952, in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Terry (and Tina) Rabenau, Peoria, Ill., Mike (and Maryann) Rabenau, Tampa, Fla., Tom (and Gail) Rabenau, Galesburg, and Joe (and Barb) Rabenau, Gilson, Ill.; a daughter, Jan (and Mike) Haynes, Galesburg; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a manager with the Knox County Highway Department for 32 years. He retired in 1983.

He was raised and educated in Galesburg. He moved to Monmouth in 1973. He had lived in Cape Fair for the past five years.

He was of Methodist faith.

Service will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Jim Epperson will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
