Carol L. Ashby
Wednesday, January 30, 2008ABINGDON - Carol L. Ashby, 66, 813 Ellison, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 27, 2008) at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1941, in Abingdon, the daughter of Leslie Lee and Maudie Pansy Postin Johnson.
Surviving are one son, Larry Eugene (Sherry Joan) Ashby of Abingdon; two grandchildren, Jeremy E. Ashby and Meranda Ashby; four great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Frank Johnson of Abingdon, Carl Sr. (Nettie) Johnson of Abingdon, Emil Johnson Sr. of rural St. Augustine, Lloyd (Betty) Johnson of Gladstone, Wayne (Lynn) Johnson of Burns, Ore., Jim Johnson of Avon and Ronald (Theresa) Johnson of Avon; two sisters, Maudie (Luther) Riley of Abingdon and Florence (Tom) White of Milan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was raised and educated in Abingdon.
She was a homemaker and was a factory worker.
She was a member of Abingdon Apostolic Harvest House.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Abingdon Apostolic Harvest House, with the Rev. Danny E. Hunt officiating. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon downstairs at the church after the service. Inurnment will be later in Abingdon Cemetery. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville, is in charge of arrangements.
