ABINGDON - Wilma F. Butterfield, 86, Macomb, formerly of Abingdon, died at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at The Elms Nursing Home in Macomb. She had lived in Macomb since 1992.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel, 206 N. Washington St., Abingdon. Visitation will be one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.

She was born July 31, 1921, in rural Camden, Schuyler County, Ill., to Edd and Helen Hume Royer. She married Carrol W. Butterfield on March 1, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1986.

Wilma lived most of her life in Abingdon. She worked in Abingdon at the Blue Bell Company before her marriage and then from 1953 until it closed. She then worked for Fey's Processing until her retirement. Wilma was a member of the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons and their wives, Ed and Sharon of Rock Island, Mel and Brenda of Quincy, Bill and Zennie of Salt Lake City, Utah, Cliff of Aniwa, Wis., and Chuck and Janice of Colchester; and two brothers and their wives, Kermit and Delores of Groveland, Ill., and Larry and Diana of Numa, Iowa. She also is survived by 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death also by her parents, a brother, Richard, and a daughter-in-law, Janet.
