Carl Herbert Themanson 1915-2008 Friday, January 25, 2008 MONMOUTH - Carl Herbert Themanson, 92, Monmouth, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 24, 2008) at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth. He was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Monmouth, the son of Carl August and Florence Marie (Edoff) Themanson. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, attending Monmouth public schools. Herb married Ardath Bennett in Wayland, Mo., on Aug. 23, 1941, and she survives. He worked at Murphy's Cigar Store in Monmouth. He also was a city bus driver in Monmouth. Herb later was a fork lift driver at Admirals in Galesburg for 18 years. Before retiring, Herb worked as a custodian at Garfield School for eight years. He loved collecting and working on cars, collecting coins and following the Chicago Cubs. Herb was a member of First Lutheran Church of Monmouth and a 50-year member of Monmouth Masonic Lodge 37 AF and AM. Surviving is his wife, Ardath Themanson of Monmouth; two sisters, Audrey Irons and Helen Babcock, both of Monmouth; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Linda Burkitt, one brother and one sister. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, with the Rev. Keith Killinger of First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call today at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, where his family will be present 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to First Lutheran Church of Monmouth.
