GALESBURG - Mrs. Ruby E. Bailey, 92, formerly of 563 Maple Ave., died at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 23, 2008) in Heartland Health Care Center.

She was born July 8, 1915, in Woodhull, the daughter of Edward and Christina Peterson. She married William L. Bailey on June 28, 1941, in Lincoln, Neb. He died Sept. 21, 2001.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol (Robert) Simpson of Galesburg, and one grandson, Brad Simpson of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, JoAnn Bailey, and two sisters.

She worked for the former Blacks Hardware for several years. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Alpha High School. She was a member of the Gale Products Retirees Club. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in Woodhull Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Larsen will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
