Thursday, January 24, 2008MONMOUTH - Donna D. Bogert, 92, Monmouth, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 22, 2008) at the Extended Care, OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth.
Donna was born May 30, 1915, in Phelps, the daughter of Vincent and Marian Sprout. She was reared in Cameron and attended country schools and Monmouth High School. She received her nurses training at Monmouth Hospital, specializing in O.B. Donna married Ernest J. Bogert in April 1948 in Ypsilanti, Mich. Donna was a registered nurse, first working at Cook County Hospital from 1936 to 1940, then Wesley Hospital 1940-1941 and Monmouth Hospital 1941-1942. She then went back to Chicago's Lying IN Hospital from 1942 to 1979. Lastly, she worked at Community Memorial Hospital from 1979 to 1986 until her retirement. Donna was a member of Fairview Center United Methodist Church and a member of its Missionary Society. After her retirement, Donna volunteered with the Bloodmobile, the Cameron Christian Care Center and at Starting Point.
Donna is survived by her sister, Florence A. Baker of Winchester, Pa., and a special friend, Erma Morrison of Monmouth. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Timothy Bogert; two brothers, Orrin Sprout and Burnill Sprout; and one sister, Marion Peterson.
Funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Turnbull Funeral Home, Monmouth. An interment service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Chapel Hill Garden South Cemetery, Worth, Ill.
