James W. Peelle

HENDERSON - James W. Peelle, 66, 108 W. Lafayette St., died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 22, 2006) at home.He was born Feb. 7, 1939, in the Buffalo, N.Y. area, the son of James Earhart and Jane Barnes Peelle.
Surviving is a son, Brian Peelle, Galesburg.
He graduated from Bradley University with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1963 and a master's degree in education in 1971.
He served in the Marine Corps.
He worked for Bradley University in Peoria for 11 years as a staff assistant in the Athletic Department and an assistant director in the Department of Financial Aid and Placement. He worked in the Peoria School District and as a marketing and mid-management instructor at Carl Sandburg College since 1980. He was a member of National Association of Financial Aid Administrators, Midwest Association of Financial Aid Administrators, Illinois Association of Financial Aid Administrators, Midwest Association of University Student Employment Directors and Midwest College Placement Association.
He was a faculty adviser for Lambda Chi Alpha social fraternity from 1968 to 1975; coached American Legion Baseball in 1970; and was a head scout for Bradley University football team in 1970. He served on the Bradley University Simulation Management Task Force, Bradley University Planned Program Budgeting Task Force and Bradley University Admissions and Retention Committee. He volunteered as a counselor for the Jubilee Youth Facility, and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Scholastic Honorary. He received the President's Certificate of Merit at Bradley University.
He was a member of Soangetaha Country Club.
A memorial visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Cremation will be accorded.
