Monday

- 1:32 a.m. Fire department received alarm. A passer-by called in the fire.

- 1:35 a.m. First fire truck arrived.

- 1:40 a.m. Full callback for all firefighters.

- 1:51 a.m. Called owners of building.

- 2:01 a.m. AmerenIP notified and told to cut gas and power to area.

- 2:15 a.m. Upper-floor front windows of 125 E. Main St. blew out; ladder truck damaged from heat - paint scorched and windshield cracked.

- 2:15-2:50 a.m. Once ladder trucked moved, changed tactics from offensive to defensive.

- 2:19 a.m. Red Cross mobile unit on scene with coffee, water and sandwiches.

- 2:25 a.m. Owners of businesses in the block were contacted.

- 2:32 a.m. Large flames at fire, ember ashes at Park Plaza.

- 2:32 a.m. Main Street closed.

- 2:47 a.m. Abingdon Fire Department dispatched.

- 2:48 a.m. Knoxville Fire Protection District dispatched.

- 2:48 a.m. Fire reported at Central Congregational Church, 60 Public Square. False alarm.

- 2:53 a.m. Part of 125 E. Main St. building collapsed. Bricks thrown into and across Main Street. Some windows broken in stores across the street.

- 2:57 a.m. Flames coming from building in back (152 E. Ferris St.).

- 3:07 a.m. More streets barricaded, back to Water Street

- 3:17 a.m. Prairie Street closed to Simmons, Simmons Street closed between Cherry and Prairie.

- 3:22 a.m. Parking lot in back of Park Plaza closed.

- 3:31 a.m. The building at 152 E. Ferris started to collapse on west side.

- 3:39 a.m. Embers at Weinberg Arcade and West Theater.

- 3:42-3:44 a.m. Fire department received calls of structure fires at 700 W. Fremont St., 200 N. Academy St., and 900 Pine St. All were false alarms.

- 3:48 a.m. Monmouth Fire Department dispatched.

- 3:49 a.m. Embers reported dying out.

- 5 a.m. Fire considered contained.

- 5:46 a.m. Salvation Army mobile unit at Cherry and Main streets.

- 5:48 a.m. State Fire Marshall on scene.

- 6 a.m. Parking lot in back of Park Plaza reopened.

- 6:18 a.m. Parking lots at Associated bank and F and M bank opened.

- 6:42 a.m. Herr Oil truck arrived to refuel fire trucks.

- 7:53 a.m. Monmouth Fire Department released.

- 8:50 a.m. Abingdon Fire Department released.

- 9:07 a.m. some of Knoxville Fire Protection District released.

- 12:30 p.m. Ratliff Bros., Kewanee, called to remove unstable walls.

- 1:20 p.m. Firefighters found small fire on roof of Billiards on Main.

Tuesday

- 8:33 a.m. flames showing at 152 Ferris St.
