KNOXVILLE - Jackie J. "Jack" Jefferson, 59, 301 East Main St., died at 3:25 p.m. Monday (Jan. 21, 2008) at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

He was born Jan. 2, 1949, in Galesburg, the son of William "Bill" and Betty Cramer Jefferson.

He married Linda Ambrosious. He later married Mary Kennedy on March 23, 1968, in Knoxville.

Surviving are one daughter, Lisa Friend, serving in the Air Force in Georgia with her children, Lexxy and Stephen; one son, Paul William (Heather) Jefferson of Tucson, Ariz., with their children, Justin and Lauren; three brothers, Jerry (Lori) Jefferson of Tenmile, Ore., Jeff (Sue) Jefferson of Gilson and John Jefferson of New London, Iowa; two sisters, Jennifer (Chuck Smith) Jefferson of Gilson and Jolene ("Chick" Rickey) Jefferson of Galesburg; and friends Denny and Terry Allen, Rodney Scott and Alice. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Joan Williams, who passed away Jan. 19, 2008.

He was raised and educated in Gilson Grade School and graduated from Knoxville High School. He worked as a millwright at Gale Products in Galesburg for 18 years. He last worked for Evans Industries Grain Elevators.

Private family graveside service will be Thursday, Jan. 24, in Gilson Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan Doty officiating. There will be no visitation. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
