GALESBURG - Sharon F. McLean, 59, 1465 Monroe St., died at 2:02 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 19, 2008) in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 18, 1948, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Bernard and Mary Simpson Joyce. She married Paul W. McLean on Nov. 26, 1967, in Galesburg. He survives.

Also surviving is a son, Paul D. McLean, Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Chris (and Chris) Lentz, Bowling Green, Ky., and Sharon McLean, Galesburg; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard L. Joyce, East Peoria, and Richard L. Joyce, Galesburg; and four sisters, Linda (and Larry) Henderson, Alexis, Mary (and Tim) Stull, Spring Bay, Brenda (and Gene) Sifarz, Akron, Ohio, and Jeanette (and John) Studyvin, Tremont. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sharon worked as a seamstress at Protexall Inc. in Galesburg for 32 years. She graduated from Peoria Manual High School in 1965. She was a member of Prairieland Baptist Church in Galesburg.

Sharon fought a courageous battle against cancer for five years.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Gary Bane will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral with private family burial later.
