Terry A. Clevenger 1944-2008 Saturday, January 19, 2008 ALEXIS - Terry A. Clevenger, 63, of Alexis, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 17, 2008) at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. She was born Dec. 5, 1944, in Monmouth. She is the daughter of Theodore Bridger and Mary Alys Hill McKnight. Terry was reared and educated in the Alexis area. She attended Alexis Grade School and graduated from Alexis High School in 1963. She then went on to attend Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Phillip Clevenger on Feb. 20, 1964, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Terry was a homemaker and farm wife. She was the owner of Cardinal Convenience Store in Alexis until the time of her death. She was a member of Alexis United Presbyterian Church; she taught Sunday school there and was also active with the PTO and was active with the North Henderson Girls Softball League and the Rainbow Girls. Surviving Terry is her husband, Phil of Alexis; three daughters, Angie Saline and Glenn of Oneida, Traci Bertelsen and Rick of Alexis and Tiffany Lair and Marc of Alexis. Also surviving are three sisters, Beth Hand and Charlie of Merlin, Ore., Tammy Creek of Lutz, Fla., and Donna Racette of Niwot, Colo.; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Alexis United Presbyterian Church. Her family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. before the service at the church. Turnbull Funeral Home, Monmouth, is in charge of arrangements.
