Peggy J. Thompson 1938-2008 Friday, January 18, 2008 NEW WINDSOR - Peggy J. Thompson, 69, New Windsor, passed on Jan. 16, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Calvary Lutheran Church in New Windsor. Burial is in the Calvary Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Alpha, where memorials may be left to Tri-County Ambulance or Calvary Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School. Online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.She was born July 19, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of Virgil and Ruth Fender Green. She attended the AlWood Schools and married W. Samuel Thompson on Nov. 28, 1955, in Alpha. She was a homemaker and was employed at various businesses in New Windsor including the Ravenwood Construction Co. and Williams Photography. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and was involved in many community activities such as Cub Scouts, Brownies, Vacation Bible School where she was known as the Kool Aid Lady, and the New Windsor Baseball concession stand. Survivors include her husband, Sam; a daughter, Rhonda Thompson of New Windsor; two sons, Timothy (Sheila) Thompson of Arnold, Mo., and Randy (Michelle) Thompson of Aledo; three grandchildren, James, Kalin and Tiffany; one great-grandchild, Gage; and two sisters, Gloria Peterson of Alpha, and Carol Hare of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Daniel; and one brother, William.
