GALESBURG - Mrs. Hazel McCulloch, 87, 121 W. Simmons St., died at 1:37 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2008) at Rosewood Care Center.

She was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Knox County, the daughter of Herbert and Cora Ward Smith. She married Bill L. McCulloch on May 10, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death Sept. 8, 2001.

She is survived by one son, Daniel L. and Bobbi McCulloch in Galesburg; one grandson, Petty Officer Jason D. and Victoria McCulloch; and two great-grandchildren, Alexia and Skyler McCulloch. She was preceded in death by two sisters.

She lived in the Galesburg area all her life, attending school in London Mills. She worked for Joe The Tailor in Galesburg for 33 years and later worked in the lunch room for School District 205 for six years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of First Church of God and a member of many bowling leagues.

Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, in East Linwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Bickel officiating. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.

Memorials may be made to First Church of God or the American Heart Association.
