Patricia J. Davis
Sunday, January 13, 2008GALESBURG - Patricia J. Davis, 76, 311 E. Simmons St., died at 8:20 a.m. Friday (Jan. 11, 2008) at home.
She was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Rushville, the daughter of Orba and Mamie Ambrosius Shores. She married Clifford L. Davis on Dec. 13, 1947, in Rushville. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gary (and Connie) Davis, Monmouth; son-in-law, George NcNeff, Macomb; two grandchildren, Jennifer Davis, Moline, and Shawna (and Bill) White, Colchester; and two great-grandchildren, Emma White and Aaron White, all of Colchester; a sister, Edna Chord, Peoria; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Paula Jean McNeff, in March 2005, a brother and two sisters.
She was a laborer at the former Gale Products Division of Outboard Marine Corp. for six years, at Protexall for two years, and was a salesperson and cashier at the former Arlan's Department Store for four years.
She was raised in rural Rushville and moved to the Galesburg area in 1953. She lived in Florida for several years before moving back to Avon, and then finally settled back in Galesburg. She attended Augusta High School. She was a member of Federated Church of Avon and its Clayberg Circle. She was a member of the Abingdon American Legion Auxiliary. Patricia had also been a Cub Scout den mother.
Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Avon Cemetery, Avon. Pastor Charles Brown will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
