Betty Marie Goodwin

GALESBURG - Betty Marie Goodwin, 77, 311 E. Simmons St., formerly of 324 Locust St., died at 5:46 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 10, 2008) in Seminary Manor.

She was born Aug. 6, 1930, the daughter of Harold LeRoy and Mildred Sara Frye VanDeMark. She married Everett Goodwin on Jan. 15, 1950, in Kewanee. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1996.

She is survived by four sons, Steven (and Mary) Goodwin, Cameron, and Michael (and Betty) Goodwin, Everett Lee Goodwin, and Rodney Goodwin, all of Galesburg; three daughters, Cindy (and Eugene) Cummings, Peoria, and Diana (and Bob) Haraldson and Debbie Hubbard, both of Galesburg; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joanne (and David) Vanderostyne and Margaret Vanderostyne, both of Kewanee. She was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

She owned and operated Goodwin's Market for 40 years along with her husband. She also worked at Osco Drug for 10 years. She retired in 1998. She graduated from Kewanee High School in 1949. She had lived in Galesburg since 1962.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Brian Sexton will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
