Chad W. Hurst
Thursday, January 10, 2008CANTON - Chad William Hurst, 35, 407 East Sycamore, formerly of Galesburg, died at 4:24 p.m. Monday (Jan. 7, 2008) at his residence in Canton.
He was born Oct. 10, 1972, in Galesburg, the son of William "Randy" and Carol Diane Larson Hurst.
He never married.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, W. Randy and Rosie Hurst of Williamsfield; his mother and stepfather, C. Diane and Jim Copeland of Galesburg; sister, Keri (David) Schneller of Springfield; four stepbrothers, Mark (Donna) Copeland of Gaylord, Mich., David (Lisa) Copeland of Denver, Colo., Quinn (Lisa) Anderson of Silverdale, Wash., and Beau Anderson of Galesburg; two stepsisters, Terri (Troy) Billeter of Gilson and Erin (Billy) Kurasz of Spring Hill, Fla.; nieces Alyssa Swenny of Springfield and Addison Schneller of Springfield; paternal grandparents Bob and Helen Hurst of Canton; and stepgrandmother Catherine Copeland of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Wayne and Dorothy Larson.
He attended grade school in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School.
He served his basic training in the Marine Corps.
He worked at HyVee and Wonder Bread in Galesburg. He then did fiber optic underground line boring at Hartco in Geneseo and later worked for Kinsel Septic Service in Canton. Most recently he worked for Big Jim's Tree Service in Canton.
He was of Catholic faith and was baptized at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, with the Rev. Marilyn Anell officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville. Cremation rites will be accorded, with inurnment later.
